Types Of Love

What is LOVE? Love is the persistent passion to accept ones feelings in a realistic and non self–centered way. Genuine love has real personality involved in it ; with more realistic expectation(s), it does not necessary mean having overwhelming attraction or developing romantic feelings for someone. Some many people especially the adolescents are often too fanatical about love that they start friendship with the opposite sex with the motives of articulating their innate latent emotions; however they don’t have the inherent knowledge on what kind of friendship they are to embark on. Having the knowledge and knowing the sinequanon of love will definitely go along way for someone not to be a victim of its pitfalls.

Kinds of Love
There are basic five kinds of love; they are viz
1. Eros love
2. Philos Love
3. Agape Love
4. Platonic Love
5. Puppy Love
Ero Loves : Eros from the Greek religion or mythology means God love, the son of Aphrodite. He was the personification of love in all its ramifications including physical passion and attraction at their strongest tender. (Whose interest was prompted by sexual desires and feelings?) His sexual instincts had an enormous influence on his emotional being. Eros fell in love with Psyche (In Greek meaning the personification of the human Soul) she was charming and clamoring, just because of her extreme beauty – having those qualities that inspires love, affection and admiration, Eros was so captivated by her beauty than she have had for him. The love Eros had for her was not unconditional as he did not allow Psyche to look his face since he was a goddess but Psyche could not play by the rule of not looking at him that she disobeyed and was later abandoned by Eros.
Phileos Love: philos from the Greek mythology means Loving – a combining form meaning loving, liking, having a predilection for something or somebody. It could simply mean the love of best friends. It is the ability and tendency of having a devoted love for some body, it is a friendship love that requires a high level of maturity - unlike Eros love is carnality (feelings and sexuality) based. Philos thrive and grow on the basis of strong devotion.
Agape Love: From the Greek, Agape means sacrificial love with special commitment. From the Greek mythology it is regarded as one of the meekest and kindest way of exhibiting love to one another. There is no doubt in the fact that nothing holds more power that love, yet love has been neglected has an element of discipline and many awful things have been done in its name. I therefore define agape love as a love that has sincere commitment, trustworthiness and absolute human feelings. It is the aspect of love that makes you see people as worthy of humans and the embodiment of tenderness, showing kindness and sympathy towards other people with the aim of exalting them above yourself. Making people feel the impact of being human irrespective of their background and social status.
Platonic Love: From natural interpretation and view of platonic; it is the aspect of that does not behave unseeingly in friendships. A friendship or relationship that is just friendly not merely with an amorous feelings – platonic love is a deep non sexual or sensual feelings with a chaste and passionate emotions with an immense affection. Unlike Eros that is instigated by extreme lust and erotic heart desires with great romantic feelings.
Puppy love: it is also referred to unrealistic love because it is made up of some elementary entities of infatuation; it is the kind of love that a much younger person would have for an older person
